Twisted Funk Records is a Miami based record label & events company that was founded in July 2019 by British DJ & Producer Ollie Sanders. The label is fast becoming one of the most prolific and renowned brands in house music.
After owning and operating a nightclub in London and spending over 20 years in the music industry, Ollie Sanders launched Twisted Funk Records, which was created to deliver an extensive catalogue of quality house music releases & artist signings, which would then be backed up by a series of uplifting club events, festival shows, pool parties, nightlife entertainment and more.
With multiple top 10 hits and countless top 100 chart entries, the label has gained many features from publications such as the legendary DJ Magazine, and iconic Voyage Miami & Canvas Rebel magazines, plus features in South Florida’s top tabloid Miami New Times. With countless radio shows and podcast interviews the Twisted Funk brand is a thriving name within the electronic music industry.
'I wanted to bring people together in the community’ says Ollie. Not only to supply the world with new cutting edge house music, but also create an electrifying club atmosphere in whichever venue we take our shows. Twisted Funk is my way of not only fulfilling my dream of running a record label, but also putting use to all my connections in clubland over years in the industry and rolling it all into a high energy uplifting, vibrant club brand that throws solid events’.
Ollie Sanders has gained direct support from many superstars that include the likes of industry award winning legends Paul Van Dyk & Bob Sinclair to name a couple. Twisted Funk boasts a catalogue that has gained major support from many international radio stations such as Mambo Radio Ibiza, Radio One Lebanon, Electric Radio UK, Miami’s Revolution 93.5, Sirius XM + many others.
Having worked with artists like Camelphat, Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry, Funkagenda, Robbie Rivera, Harry Romero, Joeski, Roland Clark, Saeed Younan, David Tort, Oscar G, Prok & Fitch, Crazibiza and an arsenal of others, Ollie’s vision for bringing stars to the Twisted Funk stage keeps reaching new heights. The streaming of the radio sessions keeps the music flowing and has recently featured shows with Gene Farris, OFFAIAH, Boris, Wally Lopez, Lavelle Dupree & Lee Cabrera.
‘I had this vision for the events and the record label' says Ollie, 'It was to bring the best music from every artist on a lineup. Not just a collection of DJ’s warming up for a headliner, I wanted that Miami Winter Music Conference feeling where every DJ set from start to finish was fire. It was every artist bringing their A-game and bringing the heat that pretty much put the headliner to the test. We expect solid club vibes from start to finish, because thats what Twisted Funk is all about, uplifting music and great energy. This is traditionally an unorthodox process for your typical club night where an opening DJ warms the room for the headliner to go ballistic. But that’s not how I envisioned Twisted Funk events, I wanted the first people in the building to be vibing right away, not chilling until the headliner appears'.
As the label and brand continues to grow, it has received a tonne of support from industry pioneers such as Paul Van Dyk, Kryder, Sam Divine, Danny Tenaglia, Shiba San, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Vanilla Ace, Miss Nine, Don Diablo, Loco Dice, Black Legend, Judge Jules and the list expands to hundreds more.
In 2023 Twisted Funk held its own stage on the world famous Groove Cruise where it sailed from Miami to Labadee. An EDM Festival on a cruise ship with 3000+ people, boasting a blistering lineup which saw performances by Chapter & Verse, Croatia Squad, Lizzie Curious, Diskopretty, Declan James & Ollie Sanders himself. The billing for this ship included an array of talent from Claptone to Nora En Pure, Markus Schulz, EDX, Anthony Atalla, Cocodrills, Miami Club Space resident Monoky + over 80 more acts. Look for Twisted Funk to return to the billing in 2024.
As the label approaches it's 4 year anniversary in June '23, the Twisted Funk label is on the verge of hitting over 1 Million Streams across the catalogue. The snowball effect on the labels success has it gaining hundreds of thousands of listeners & attracting thousands of event attendees each year.
With planned events in Las Vegas, Chicago, London, Ibiza, Medellin, Tampa, Toronto & Australia on the cards, The Twisted Funk Family are taking the show on tour and look forward to welcoming you soon.
